Shering Weighing Ltd have been in business for more than 55 years and have progressed from being a small scale manufacturer of mechanical scales to becoming one of the largest, privately owned weighing equipment manufacturers in the UK.
Our scope of work includes design, manufacture, installation, servicing and self-verification of weighing solutions, from the basic scale/weighbridge and digital readout to innovative custom-made computerised unmanned systems.
A two tier Management System in harmony with ISO9001:2000 and the Atex Directive (94/9/EC) is in place to provide clearly defined policies, processes, procedures and work instructions for the effective planning, operation and control of the above activities.

- Reporting the performance of these systems to management as a means of review and improvement

- Initiating concession requests to customers
- Managing the Corrective Action System
- Providing statistical analysis on the above as a basis for the Annual Quality Review
- Co-ordinating the calibration of all inspection, measuring & test equipment used
- Direct liaison with third party auditors.
- Customer Services Manager
- Is responsible for the successful co-ordination and completion of all repair, servicing and installation contracts.
- General Manager
- Has delegated responsibility for research, development and design activities associated with new mechanical and instrumentation based solutions, ensuring they comply with all current legislation, standards and regulations and meet business requirements. This includes the production and maintenance of technical specifications, equipment assembly and test procedures, process procedures and development drawings.
- Is responsible for the overall control and operation of the Production Area ensuring that the defined process procedures and Workmanship standards are performed & suitably maintained.
- Being the Appointed Authorised person for ATEX Products, he has authority and responsibility to interface with the notified body to inform them of any notification of changes to certified drawings. He holds all relevant documentation in a secure, but accessible environment.
- Sales & Purchasing Co-ordinator
- The Purchasing Manager is responsible for maintaining effective procedures that ensure the correct products are available when required. Responsibilities include the maintenance of the list of approved suppliers to facilitate increased value through mutually beneficial working relationships.
- Inspection Personnel
Is responsible to the Board of Directors for the overall Company policy, direction, strategy and operation of the organisation. He leads the Management team in achieving the aims and objectives essential to improving the overall company performance and capabilities.
Is responsible for the teams who communicate with customers to establish and fulfil their requirements through to their satisfaction. He is responsible for sustaining customer loyalty, managing data on customer feedback, and the customer complaints procedure.
Reports directly to the Chairman & Managing Director and is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems within the organisation. The main responsibilities are:
- The Inspection Personnel, as detailed by document 790165 are responsible for conducting the quality verification activities of the company. They ensure that materials and assemblies are received and produced in line with specified criteria and that the necessary records are maintained.
