Lafarge
The installation for Lafarge Aggregates is a heavy-duty 9020HP surface mounted weighbridge at their Finningley Quarry in Yorkshire. The weighbridge will be used to monitor and control the movement of stock using "15 tonne axle trucks" between two areas within Finningley. The system which includes tailored Sabre instrumentation, also manufactured in-house by Shering, provides various reports of stock movements on demand.

Yorwaste
This is Yorwaste's seventh fully computerised Shering weighbridge system. The new weighbridge system includes a 9020LP surface mounted weighbridge together with computer hardware and a further tailored copy of their Shering Sabre 8000 software. It is sited at a recycling plant in Yorkshire and the project calls for Shering to provide suitable foundations for the new weighbridge.
"One of the attractions of the Shering package was the 'all in package' offered, which included the civil works required to house the weighbridge itself. The civil works were undertaken by a third party contractor appointed by Shering Weighing, who worked in a similarly professional manner to Shering and completed works to the time scales required.
Throughout the design, installation, and commissioning process Shering staff were helpful and went out of their way to work around the on-site working requirements of a busy quarry and landfill site. Overall the weighbridge has been installed exactly as specified, in the time specified, to a competitive budget, in a professional manner, without requiring excessive input from any of our staff who have been able to let Shering get on with the job."
Landfill Manager for Brett Waste Management
The installation for Brett Waste Management is a 16 x 3m Tiger surface mounted weighbridge 60 tonne capacity at their Elsenham site, Essex. The weighbridge installation complements the existing Shering weighbridge, which had to cope with an increasing volume of traffic due to the increase in site exports of sand and aggregates and the importing of wastes. In combination these two weighbridges allow for a 'one way system' with an in and an out weighbridge. The system can now easily cope with the heavy site traffic.

Quarry Manager at Aggregate Industries
Aggregate Industries placed the order at Shering Head Office on a Friday afternoon with the Shering Sales & Service Director. By the following Friday, less than a week later, the weighbridge was installed and stamped ready for operations to commence. The installation is a 15 x 3m Bronze surface mounted weighbridge, required to weigh out traffic, at Coleman's Quarry, Somerset.

Project Manager for Shanks Waste Services
Shanks Waste Services needed a system capable of controlling all transactions carried out by five weighbridge sites, situated at Oban, Lochgilphead, Rothesay, Dunoon and Campbeltown, from one centralised point. As well as collating all weighbridge transaction information from all the sites for invoice and reporting purposes the system would also have to control business accounts, product pricing, waste codes, hauliers used and duty of care requirements. Shering have responded to the requirement by producing a system which includes four Tiger weighbridges, sizes 18 x 3m and 10 x 3m surface or pit mounted depending on site considerations, as well as Shering instrumentation and computer systems for all relevant sites. The Shering weighing system allows the administration staff at Shanks UK central control point to maintain tight control and ensure efficient processing of all transactions. Monthly invoices are produced for Shanks customers, which are exported to the main accounts system for further processing.
